Version History
A Signal Record is never “finished.” Science moves, and so do our records. Every record is a living document with a transparent, versioned history of how its conclusions have changed.
Records are living documents
A record captures the best synthesis of the evidence at a point in time. New trials are published, systematic reviews are updated, and scientific consensus evolves — sometimes strengthening a conclusion, sometimes tempering it. BioSignal treats a record as something to maintain, not to freeze.
Every update is logged. When a record changes, the change is recorded with a new version and a short note explaining what moved and why. Nothing is edited silently, so you can always see how a conclusion arrived at its current form.
When BioSignal updates a record
A record is revised when the evidence base changes materially: a new high-quality trial or review shifts the balance, a verdict or confidence level needs to move, safety information is added, or an error is found. Updates follow the same editorial review as the original — an update is not a shortcut around scrutiny.
Semantic versioning
BioSignal versions records as MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, so the version number itself tells you how much has changed since you last read it.
Major
A conclusion changes. A verdict flips, a confidence level moves, or the overall bottom line is rewritten because the balance of evidence has shifted. Major updates are the ones most worth re-reading.
Minor
New evidence is incorporated without overturning the conclusion — a new trial or review is added, a section is expanded, or a nuance is clarified. The direction holds; the picture gets sharper.
Patch
A correction or refinement that doesn't affect the science: a typo, a broken link, a clearer sentence, or a formatting fix. Small, but still logged.
